Faces of Tech: Marion Courtat, Business Analyst Microsoft D365 & Power Platform

Marion Courtat

In our next feature in the Faces of Tech series, we shine the spotlight on Marion Courtat, Functional & Business Analyst at Business Elements Reply.

Marion’s background consists of experiences in corporate finance, auditing, and risk management with an expert focus on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform ecosystems. She combines that business experience with deep expertise to help organisations improve the way they work. By bringing together strategic thinking and hands-on technical expertise, she delivers practical digital solutions that meet business needs and make everyday processes simpler and more efficient.

What is one project, initiative, or problem you worked on that you consider meaningful and why?

One of the most meaningful experiences in my career was my very first project as a Functional and Business Analyst, for two main reasons.

First, I was surrounded by people who genuinely supported, coached, and guided me throughout the project. This experience made me realize how important it is to support junior colleagues and help them grow and develop their skills. Today, mentoring, knowledge sharing, and team spirit are values that strongly drive me in my daily work.

Second, this project helped me understand the real impact of our profession. Our role is not only to deliver solutions, but also to support, advise, and guide our clients. We build genuine relationships based on trust. When our work helps improve our clients’ daily operations and enables them to perform better — and when they express their appreciation for it — our job truly becomes meaningful.

When facing complexity, how do you move forward?

When facing complexity, the first thing I do is step away from my computer for about fifteen minutes and take a moment to breathe.

We are constantly exposed to information, requests, and stimulation, so this helps me refocus, gain perspective, and look at the situation from a different angle. It allows me to clear my mind and approach the problem more thoughtfully.

Once I have a clearer understanding of the direction to take, I like to discuss the situation with colleagues. I strongly believe that combining different perspectives leads to stronger, more balanced, and more sustainable solutions.

Can you describe a situation where you had to make an important decision with limited information? What guided you?

In situations where I have to make an important decision with limited information, I first try to understand who will be impacted by that decision and how.

I make it a priority to stay aligned with values that are very important to me: fairness, respect, and a fact-based approach. These principles help guide my judgment, especially when not all the information is available. I focus on making the most balanced and responsible decision possible with the elements I have at that moment.

When explaining my decision, I also encourage open discussion and remain receptive to better alternatives if they exist. I believe that making a decision does not mean closing the door to collaboration, feedback, or continuous improvement.

What do your teams rely on you for?

My teams rely on me for my commitment, my positive energy, and the quality of my work.

I am fully invested in what I do, and I try to bring a constructive and positive mindset to the team, especially when things get busy or challenging.

They also know they can count on me to deliver on time, while keeping a strong focus on quality.

What is one principle or belief that consistently guides how you deliver your work?

The principle that consistently guides how I deliver my work is to stay fully committed and always give the best of myself.

I aim to work in a thoughtful and structured way, focusing on quality in both execution and communication. My goal is to ensure that what I deliver is clear, reliable, and helps build trust; both in our collaboration and in the tools or solutions the client will use on a daily basis.
